Strandfontein Beach is situated on the False Bay coastline and is well known for having the biggest tidal swimming pool in the southern hemisphere.
The water along this coastline is warm, and during the early summer months it can be quite windy at the beach.
Residents as well as domestic and international tourists frequent the beach and a large number of events, that appeal to beachgoers and spectators, are staged here.
The beach offers three kiosk facilities, a tidal pool, seating areas, an amphitheatre and a braai area.
Strandfontein Beach is known for its relatively safe bathing conditions and voluntary lifesaving clubs, including the Strandfontein Lifesaving Club as well as
the local NSRI are situated here. Lifeguards are on duty during the Blue Flag season
(1 December to 31 March).
Plenty of parking bays are available, including 352 normal bays, four bus bays, six handicapped parking bays and two loading zones.
Local beach vendors are on site selling ice-cream, snacks and cold drinks.
